The word God has come from Hebrew and Greek ancient texts that mean,
- To pour, and,
- To invoke
Pouring yourself
To wholeheartedly connect to the heart of God, firstly, you need to be immersed more fully in God by pouring your soul into God. Secondly, you need to have God immersed more fully in you by invoking God into yourself.
In India, worship translates to the word “Pooja” which means to give your whole self. Give your whole self to God, like you give your whole self to a swimming pool while jumping or diving into it. Eyes, ears, nose, mouth are all cut off from the material world for a while and only the pool water is the external world at that moment. You can easily do this by sitting silently and breathing deeply. In Yoga this is called Prathayara - withdrawing from sensory and mental distractions. In this state you easily transition in to meditation by whichever technique you know that works for you.
Invoking God
During meditation is when you can invoke God fully. Request God to pervade your body, mind and being with Grace. Feel the lightness that follows and remain in it till you get the feeling that you are full.
Now you will be surrounded by God both inside and outside you. You will become a portable heaven as you go about your worldly duties. Smiling, unperturbed, spreading joy wherever you go…
Do this daily to refuel yourself so that any dissipation of God energy due to the waning of devotion or the friction of material life is replenished and the Grace of God remains ever present.
When you invoke God day by day, you will build divinity into your life drop by drop, and you will become an ocean of Divine Love giving succour to all that comes your way...
You are in God and God is in you.
